Founded in 1995 and reopened at the end of 2003, the underground Swarovski Crystal Worlds, designed by... André Heller, have become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Austria. The crystal artworks composed by famous artists and presented by Heller in a breathtaking way, take you into a fascinating world of sparkling light. After visitors have passed the water-spouting head of an alpine giant at the entrance, the Crystal Planet, a 3D projection, presents the history of the world making use of crystal metaphors. Inside the Crystal Dome the interior of a crystal object is reflected in 590 facets. The Crystaloscope, a giant kaleidoscope, features special healing crystals. These unique crystals were developed by a German therapist in cooperation with Swarovski. Sensitive people can feel the harmony that radiates from these crystals. The other crystal rooms, bearing the artistic signatures of Hans Magnus Enzensberger, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dalí and many others, are fascinating as well. more

An alpine idyll, peacefully grazing cows on green pastures, quaint taverns and hamlets, but also lots... of skiing and snowboarding fun and action on snow-covered slopes – that's Kirchberg in Tyrol, located in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps in the Austrian Brixental. The ski area Kirchberg/Kitzbühel is one of the most popular winter sports destinations in Austria, in summer there are countless hiking and biking trails, and throughout the year the different villages offer numerous events and leisure activities. A highlight in autumn: the traditional cattle parades and Alpine festivals with regional specialties and traditional music attracting thousands of visitors each year. In September the International Libro Balloon Cup, above all the "Nacht der Ballone" (Night of the Balloons) with torchlight parades and fireworks, is a very special event. Another unique experience is the "Brixentaler Bergleuchten" which transforms the valley and the surrounding mountains into a romantic sea of lights. more

The name of this bridge (Teufelsbrücke = devil's bridge) is not by chance! Legend has it that the devil... himself agreed to build the bridge over the deep gorge in 1876, when the peasants of the village were desperate and did not know what to do. In return he wanted the soul of the first living thing that would cross this bridge. After only one night the bridge was completed and the devil urged the farmers to fulfill his wish. The clever people of Finkenberger however did not send a human being but merely a bleating goat to other side. Whether the bridge was built by the devil himself or by the hand of man is not important in the end. The bridge over the roaring Wildbach river of Tux is definitely worth seeing, because it is considered a very rare example of the unique Tyrolean timber construction method. Anyway, the mysterious story about the devil makes a walk over the old bridge a very special experience. more
